As of October 2025, the second anniversary of this tragic event highlighted the ongoing issue of hostages still held in Gaza, with recent reports indicating that 48 hostages remain in captivity, including 20 who are believed to be alive. Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, commemorated this anniversary by calling for negotiations to free the remaining hostages and reaffirming the U.S. support for Israel.
