Russia launches deadly drone and missile attack on Ukraine

Over the span of three hours, the second largest city in Ukraine saw a barrage of four guided bombs, along with missile strikes and numerous drone incursions. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that high-rise buildings, businesses, and infrastructure sustained significant damage, and at least five people, including emergency responders, were injured as a result of a double tap strike—an attack targeting rescuers assisting the affected. Analyzing the scale of Russia’s military actions, a preliminary air force report noted that the Russian forces deployed a significant number of drones and missiles, with air defense systems successfully intercepting many. Specifically, they managed to target various locations, with notable impacts recorded in Kyiv as emergency services worked to respond amidst the chaos. On the Russian side, Ukrainian drones launched their own attacks, notably in the Rostov region where two individuals were killed according to acting governor Yuri Slyusar. Additional incidents in the Stavropol region resulted in fire at an industrial site, while attacks aimed at Moscow were intercepted, preventing further damage.
