TAP Air Portugal, a prominent airline in Portugal, has announced a major expansion with three new seasonal routes connecting US cities to Portugal. On December 3, 2024, the airline unveiled plans for these routes from Boston to Porto, Los Angeles to Lisbon, and San Francisco to Terceira in the Azores, set to commence in mid-2025. The Boston-Porto route will operate four times a week starting from May 14, 2025, while the Los Angeles-Lisbon route will begin on May 16, initially running three times a week and later increasing to four. The San Francisco-Terceira service is scheduled for weekly flights starting June 3, 2025. TAP Air Portugal is the only airline offering these nonstop flights, enhancing connectivity between the US and Portugal, which is particularly significant given the increasing travel demands in the post-pandemic era. The introduction of these routes not only showcases TAP's commitment to expanding its US operations but also celebrates its 80th anniversary of service to the USA in 2025, marking a key milestone in the airline's history. Fares for these new routes are competitively priced, starting at $679 for a round trip to Portugal or $599 to various European destinations if purchased by December 17, 2024. Along with the new routes, TAP is promoting its popular Portugal Stopover program, allowing travelers to enjoy up to 10 days in Portugal at no additional airfare when traveling to Europe.
