She graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in fine arts and began her Hollywood career in 1953. Kathryn met Bing Crosby while interviewing him for a column she wrote for her hometown newspaper, leading to their marriage in 1957. At the time, she was 23, and he was 54. After marrying Bing Crosby, Kathryn significantly reduced her acting career, although she frequently appeared alongside him in Christmas specials and commercials. In 1963, she became a registered nurse, showcasing her versatility beyond acting. Following Bing's death in 1977 from a heart attack, she returned to the stage, performing in productions like 'Same Time, Next Year' and 'Charley’s Aunt.' Kathryn also co-starred in the 1996 Broadway revival of 'State Fair' and hosted the Crosby National golf tournament for 16 years until 2001. Her life was marked by both personal and professional challenges, including the tragic loss of her second husband, Maurice Sullivan, in a car accident in 2010. She is survived by her three children, Harry, Mary, who gained fame from the TV show 'Dallas,' and Nathaniel, an accomplished amateur golfer. Kathryn Crosby's legacy as an actress and a devoted family member remains significant in the entertainment industry and beyond.
