In a bold transformation, Anna Maxwell Martin has debuted a striking new appearance in David Mitchell's upcoming BBC comedy series, "Ludwig." The show will also feature Rose, a former EastEnders star and Strictly Come Dancing champion, who will portray Freya Chordwell. Rose's new look includes a long-sleeve blue blazer paired with a polka dot dress, making her nearly unrecognizable. Meanwhile, Martin has traded her signature blonde hair for a short brunette bob, complemented by minimal makeup. The plot of "Ludwig" revolves around David Mitchell's character, John 'Ludwig' Taylor, whose life takes a dramatic turn when his identical twin brother, James, mysteriously vanishes. In a desperate attempt to uncover his brother's fate, Ludwig assumes James' identity. The narrative contrasts Ludwig's chaotic life with that of James, a devoted family man and respected Detective Chief Inspector in Cambridge's Major Investigations Team. The series raises the question of whether Ludwig can successfully navigate his brother's responsibilities while searching for him. Anna Maxwell Martin plays the role of Ludwig's sister-in-law and the wife of the missing James. The six-part series, consisting of 60-minute episodes, is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn. The cast also includes notable names such as Derek Jacobi, Felicity Kendal, and Karl Pilkington, among others. Produced by Big Talk Studios in collaboration with That Mitchell And Webb Company, "Ludwig" is created and written by Mark Brotherhood. The series is commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC, with executive producers including David Mitchell and Kenton Allen.
