A 42-year-old woman from Redwood City, identified as Heidi Buttery, was arrested on Wednesday in Santa Cruz County on multiple charges, including robbery, hit-and-run, and evading police. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a reckless driving incident around 7:15 p.m. near state Highway 1 and Miramontes Point Road in Half Moon Bay. The investigation revealed that Buttery had been involved in a non-injury hit-and-run with another driver. The victim pursued her to Highway 1 and Tunitas Creek Road, where a confrontation occurred. During this encounter, Buttery allegedly robbed the victim by force before fleeing the scene in her vehicle. Law enforcement located Buttery driving south on Highway 1 near Pomponio State Beach and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, she failed to yield, leading to a police pursuit. The sheriff's office deployed air support, and officers from the California Highway Patrol used spike strips to bring the chase to an end. Buttery was arrested without incident and subsequently booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility. She faces charges of robbery, hit-and-run resulting in property damage, and evading an officer. As of Thursday night, she remained in custody with bail set at $187,500 and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
