On September 23, during the UN General Assembly in New York, Juraj Blanár, the Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, emphasized Slovakia's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Western Balkan states. This initiative aims to expedite their European integration, a goal these nations have pursued for two decades. Blanár highlighted the recent approval of a six billion euro EU economic plan designed to support these countries. He noted that this plan is crucial for providing a tangible perspective on EU membership, particularly for nations like Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are in the process of opening accession negotiations. However, he stressed the importance of these countries fulfilling pre-accession conditions to ensure successful integration into the EU.
