Indiana Pacers Guard Andrew Nembhard Signs Contract Extension

Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard has secured a three-year contract extension worth $59 million, as confirmed by his agents Todd Ramasar and Jaafar Choufani of Life Sports Agency. This deal, which will extend through the 2027-28 season, represents the maximum allowable amount for a three-year agreement. The Pacers are set to decline Nembhard's $2.2 million team option for the 2025-26 season, allowing the new contract to take effect next year. Nembhard, who was drafted 31st overall by the Pacers in 2022 from Gonzaga, has emerged as a key player during his two seasons in the NBA. His performance in the 2024 Eastern Conference playoffs, where he averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 assists while shooting 56 percent, has solidified his status as a breakout star. Currently, he is representing Canada at the Paris Olympics. During the Pacers' playoff run, Nembhard played a crucial role, particularly in the absence of All-Star Tyrese Haliburton in Games 3 and 4 of the conference finals against the Boston Celtics. He averaged an impressive 28 points and 9.5 assists in those games, becoming one of only four players to achieve shooting percentages of 55 percent from the floor and 45 percent from three-point range in a single postseason. As the Pacers look to build on their success, they have also retained key players like Pascal Siakam and Obi Toppin, aiming for a competitive season in 2024-25. Nembhard's exceptional shooting, particularly his 48 percent from beyond the arc in the playoffs, positions him as a vital component of the Pacers' young and talented roster.
