Eminem's music publishing company sues Meta for $109 million

As a result, Eight Mile Style is demanding $109 million in damages, citing copyright infringement across several platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. In the lawsuit, Eight Mile Style asserts that Meta profited from the music despite lacking the rights to do so. According to the published details, the infringement is characterized as reckless exploitation by a massive tech company, which has been known to engage in negotiations for music rights but allegedly failed to reach a licensing agreement with Eight Mile Style. Although the lawsuit claims that Meta had been aware of the need for a proper license for several years, the social media firm contended it was negotiating in good faith. Meta's response indicated its commitment to maintaining licensing agreements with numerous partners worldwide, aiming to create a global licensing program for music. However, instead of continuing these discussions, Eight Mile Style chose to pursue legal action, leading to the current lawsuit.
