Story

A brown felt fedora worn by Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" has sold for an impressive $630,000 (£487,000) at a recent auction in Los Angeles. The hat, specifically crafted for the 1984 film, is prominently featured in a scene where Indiana Jones and his companions escape from a crashing plane using an inflatable raft. The auction house noted that the hat was also utilized during additional photography at George Lucas's visual effects facilities. The fedora, which was worn by Ford's stunt double Dean Ferrandini, was sold alongside previously unpublished photographs of Ferrandini in the iconic costume on set. Ferrandini, who passed away last year, contributed to the film's legacy, and the hat's sale marks a significant moment for fans of the franchise. The sable-colored fedora is an updated version of the original hat from "Raiders of the Lost Ark," featuring a more tapered crown and gold monogrammed initials "IJ" on the inside lining. In addition to the Indiana Jones hat, the auction featured other notable items, including an imperial scout trooper helmet from "Return of the Jedi," which sold for $315,000 (£243,000), and a light-up wand from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," fetching $53,550 (£41,400). A suit worn by Daniel Craig in "Skyfall" also attracted bids, selling for $35,000 (£27,000). Propstore's COO, Brandon Alinger, expressed pride in connecting fans with these historic pieces.
