The New York Mets have activated right-hander Kodai Senga from the 60-day injured list, marking his return after a lengthy recovery from a right shoulder capsule strain that sidelined him for the first 102 games of the season. Senga, who was a strong contender for the NL Rookie of the Year last season, is set to start against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. Last year, he posted a record of 12-7 with a 2.98 ERA across 29 starts after signing a lucrative five-year, $75 million contract. In addition to Senga's return, the Mets have made several roster adjustments. Right-handed reliever Eric Orze has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse, while Dedniel Núñez has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right pronator strain. Núñez, who has been effective this season with a 2.43 ERA and one save in 24 games, underwent an MRI that ruled out any serious elbow ligament damage, according to manager Carlos Mendoza. The Mets also designated right-handers Adrian Houser and Shintaro Fujinami for assignment. Houser, who was acquired from Milwaukee, struggled with a 7.84 ERA in his appearances, while Fujinami, who signed a one-year deal worth $3.35 million, faced challenges during his rehab stint, walking eight batters in just 8 2/3 innings. Mendoza praised Houser's professionalism despite his inconsistency, highlighting his willingness to adapt to the team's needs throughout the season.
