Brazil"s agriculture leaders meet to boost sustainable food production

Helder Barbalho, governor of Pará, stressed the importance of bioeconomy investments and the regulation of the carbon market to support local communities in balancing agriculture and forest conservation. Eduardo Riedel, governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, urged Brazil to assert its position in the G20, advocating for the reduction of trade and environmental barriers. He pointed out the importance of traceability and compliance with the EU's zero-deforestation requirements. The forum also featured discussions on global collaboration to address climate change and improve access to agricultural technologies for small and medium producers. The event, which precedes the G20 Agro Working Group meeting, aims to elevate agribusiness issues on the global stage, showcasing Brazil's commitment to sustainable practices and international cooperation in food security efforts.
