Aton Resources reveals high-grade drilling results from Abu Marawat
- Aton Resources Inc. has completed 95 diamond drill holes at the Abu Marawat deposit, totaling 7,917 meters.
- Recent results indicate high-grade polymetallic mineralization including significant gold and silver intersections.
- These findings enhance the potential for future mining operations at the Abu Marawat Concession.
On May 20, 2025, Aton Resources Inc. provided updates regarding its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Abu Marawat deposit, located in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. The company announced that 95 diamond drill holes had been completed, totaling 7,917 meters, with recent results from 21 additional drill holes showing high-grade polymetallic mineralization. Notably, some of the drilling results included intersections of 8.52 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 88.7 g/t silver over a 15.4-meter interval, affirming the deposit's potential viability for long-term mining operations. These drilling activities began in June 2024 and focused on testing near-surface mineralization in a challenging terrain that is otherwise largely undrilled. The report highlights significant intersections of gold, silver, copper, and zinc, suggesting robust prospects for future resource estimation and development planning at the Abu Marawat Concession. The company is also actively pursuing related environmental assessments and studies to ensure sustainable mining practices. The Abu Marawat deposit is situated approximately 35 kilometers northeast of the Hamama West deposit and 10 kilometers north-northeast of the Semna gold mine project. The polymetallic mineralization found in this region is interpreted to be mesothermal in origin. Notably, high-grade mineralization has been identified close to the surface, which is a crucial factor the company is capitalizing on as it aims for the development of multiple mining operations. To complement the ongoing drilling, Aton Resources plans to commence a series of hydro drilling initiatives in the coming weeks, focusing on establishing a viable groundwater supply to support the planned mining projects. The latest results bolster confidence in the Abu Marawat site, paving the way for more intensive exploration and developmental efforts in the region as the company seeks to establish its position as a key player in the mineral resource sector.
