In November 2024, Calhoun County, Georgia, achieved a milestone by becoming the first in the United States to deploy Ryzyliant's EDGE platform integrated with INdigital's Next Generation Core Services (NGCS). This deployment reflects a significant advancement in emergency response technology and provides critical improvements in how 911 calls are handled. The collaboration is particularly noteworthy for Calhoun County, which is classified as one of Georgia's smaller Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), operated by only two positions. INdigital's growing presence in Georgia is also highlighted, marking this implementation as their third live NGCS customer in the state. The integration of Ryzyliant’s EDGE platform was designed to ensure efficient and reliable response capabilities, enhancing the infrastructure of emergency services. This advanced system utilizes a hybrid cloud-hosted approach with local survivability, allowing for improved resilience and security in responding to community emergencies. Eric Hartman, Vice President of INdigital, emphasized that this partnership is pivotal for the future of public safety technology, ensuring that every 911 call is processed accurately regardless of the circumstances. Further enhancing the functionality of the 911 service, INdigital provided database services and implemented the Texty service, which enables text-to-911 functionality for the county's residents. This feature is particularly important as it addresses modern communication needs, allowing individuals to send a text in case of an emergency when voice communication may not be possible. Caleb Branch, Vice President of Market Management at INdigital, stated that delivering 911 calls is their primary objective and the innovative tools now available to Calhoun County significantly augment their public safety capabilities. Overall, this initiative not only sets a new standard for the state of Georgia but also serves as a model for public safety agencies across the nation. As emergency response agencies transition to next-generation systems, the collaboration between Ryzyliant and INdigital demonstrates how technology and reliable infrastructure can effectively work together to serve communities. This implementation bears significance not just for Calhoun County but also exemplifies the ongoing transformation within public safety operations, illustrating the need for modernized approaches in handling emergency calls.
