FAA announces major overhaul plans to fix Newark airport operations

The New Jersey airport, known as one of the busiest in the U.S., has been further affected by ongoing construction limiting operational capacity. Staffing shortages at the Philadelphia TRACON, which manages Newark air traffic, have compounded the operational issues. Currently, 22 fully certified controllers are available, while several individuals are in training.
