In early 2023, Mark Wahlberg and his family relocated from Beverly Hills, California to Las Vegas, Nevada, in search of improved opportunities for their children. Their former estate, a lavish 14,000-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms, a grotto pool, and a basketball court, was recently listed for $21.8 million, three years after Wahlberg moved his family. Following a complete remodel, the property was put on the market by the current owners. Wahlberg had purchased the property in 2001 for approximately $5 million and sold it for $10.3 million in 2013. The decision to move to Las Vegas stemmed from a desire to provide their children with a more conducive environment for growth. Mark Wahlberg expressed that as a Hollywood figure, he once found great prestige in living in Beverly Hills but believed that Las Vegas offered his children unique opportunities. His daughter is an equestrian, while his son has taken an interest in golfing, both of which are more accessible in Nevada. Wahlberg emphasized that he wanted his children to thrive, which played a significant role in their relocation. Furthermore, Wahlberg's move opened up new business avenues for him in Las Vegas. In September 2024, he opened a second location of his restaurant, Flecha Cantina, in the city, complementing his existing establishment in Huntington Beach, California. He has expressed a strong commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience, indicating his focus on customer satisfaction and a homely environment at his restaurants. In addition to his ventures in the restaurant industry, Wahlberg has ambitions to transform Las Vegas into a new hub for film production. He has articulated his vision for establishing a state-of-the-art studio that he hopes will earn tax credits following a gubernatorial election in Nevada. Wahlberg likens this potential transformation to a new iteration of Hollywood, referring to it as "Hollywood 2.0," and he is poised to pursue various opportunities as he seeks to combine his passion for filmmaking with the vibrant atmosphere of Las Vegas.
