Man Arrested for Slapping Women in Nashua Park

In Nashua, New Hampshire, police arrested 30-year-old Shane Totman for allegedly assaulting multiple women in Mine Falls Park over a week, from October 11 to October 16, 2024. The attacks involved slapping women on various parts of their bodies, raising alarm among park-goers. Witnesses reported five incidents, and one victim was forcibly pulled to the ground. As a result, police increased their presence within the park, which spans 325 acres, to discourage further violence. On October 16, an officer stopped a man riding an electric scooter who matched the suspect's description, but he denied involvement. Following this, detectives reviewed surveillance footage that revealed Totman returning home shortly after the last reported attack. In the video, he appeared to be wearing the same clothing and utilizing the same bicycle as the alleged attacker. After gathering sufficient evidence, police obtained an arrest warrant and apprehended Totman on October 20. He is scheduled to face arraignment in Nashua Court the following day. This series of assaults has raised concerns regarding safety in public spaces, prompting local authorities to investigate further protective measures.
