In Spain, Trinasolar, a leader in photovoltaic and energy storage solutions, has joined forces with the Spanish group ReTree, which focuses on combating deforestation. This collaboration, initiated to enhance biodiversity and promote carbon absorption, launched on December 12, 2024. The partnership aims to plant a total of 1,500 trees in two locations: Sierra Norte de Madrid and Teruel's Vértice del Frío over the next three years. The areas selected have been identified as having significant risks of desertification and soil degradation, making them prime candidates for reforestation efforts. As part of the initiative, the first 500 trees have already been planted, with active participation from Trinasolar employees and volunteers. The program, dubbed Trina Forest, not only addresses environmental issues but also includes team-building activities that involve employees in hands-on reforestation efforts. Furthermore, ReTree will provide monitoring services to track the growth and carbon dioxide absorption capabilities of the newly planted trees, utilizing its digitalization platform, Treegital. The aim is to restore approximately 14,016 square meters of degraded soil and sequester an estimated 44,358 kilograms of CO2, alongside nourishing the soil with 9,515 liters of water through the trees' growth.
