Metro Boomin, the Grammy-nominated rap producer known for his collaborations with artists like Travis Scott and Drake, is making waves with a philanthropic initiative dedicated to single mothers. Raised by a single mother, Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, has long been an advocate for single-parent families. Following the tragic loss of his mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, in 2022, he intensified his efforts to honor her memory through charitable work. In December 2023, Metro Boomin launched the "Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes" initiative, which coincides with his North American tour with Future. This program aims to provide $20,000 grants and concert tickets to non-profit organizations that support single mothers in each of the 21 cities on the tour. Metro Boomin expressed his gratitude for the support he receives from fans, stating, “I knew that I had to give back and share blessings with the cities and communities who are coming out and sharing blessings with me.” The initiative kicked off with successful events in Kansas City, St. Paul, and Detroit, where grants were awarded to local organizations assisting single mothers and their families. These included Essential Families in Kansas City, the Jeremiah Program in St. Paul, and Alternatives for Girls in Detroit. The program will continue through August and September, with stops in major cities like Atlanta, Chicago, and New York, reinforcing Metro Boomin's commitment to making a positive impact beyond the music industry.
