Sheetz ranks second among best retail employers in the nation

In the United States, two well-known Pennsylvania-based companies have been recognized for their commitment to creating positive work environments for retail workers. Sheetz, a convenience store chain based in Altoona, garnered the impressive distinction of being ranked as the second-best employer for retail employees on Fortune's Best Workplaces in Retail list. Meanwhile, DICK's Sporting Goods, headquartered in Coraopolis, secured the tenth position. These rankings are significant, as they stem from a thorough survey conducted by Great Place to Work, which analyzed around 1.3 million employee responses from various companies nationwide. Respondents reported high levels of satisfaction with both companies, with 90% of Sheetz employees and 82% of DICK's employees affirming that their workplaces are great environments, significantly higher than the 57% satisfaction rate observed at the average U.S.-based company. This marks the tenth successive year that Sheetz has made it onto the list, consistently maintaining a presence in the top 10. Travis Sheetz, CEO and president of Sheetz, expressed the honor of being ranked second amid other respected businesses that emphasize a positive work culture, highlighting the company's philosophy that it is responsible for fostering fulfilling careers for its employees. Sheetz currently operates 800 stores across several states, including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland, employing approximately 27,000 people. The company promotes competitive wages and benefits and has over 900 job openings at present. Similarly, DICK's Sporting Goods has also shown dedication to employee satisfaction, with their website listing more than 2,200 open positions.
