Poland signs deal for new infantry fighting vehicles to replace aging BMP-1s

Poland is phasing out its aging BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) as it seeks to modernize its military capabilities. In March 2023, the Polish government signed a significant contract marking the beginning of a comprehensive plan to acquire a new homegrown IFV, the Borsuk, designed to enhance national defense and strengthen the economy.
