A 35-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection to a domestic violence incident following the discovery of a man's body in a surfboard bag at a rural property in Darkwood, located west of Coffs Harbour. The woman was arrested on Friday afternoon in Nambucca Heads and subsequently taken to Macksville police station, where she was formally charged with the murder of a 62-year-old man. Authorities were alerted to the scene on Thursday evening around 7 PM after reports of a body being found. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man's body inside a surfboard bag positioned on the driveway of the property. The police, part of the Coffs/Clarence district, initiated an investigation with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s homicide squad, forming Strike Force Nome to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the death. The police allege that the woman and the deceased were known to each other, suggesting a potential motive linked to their relationship. Following extensive inquiries, the woman was arrested the next day. Currently, the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been refused bail and is set to appear in Port Macquarie local court on Saturday. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details regarding the incident.
