Early Saturday morning, Novato police responded to a burglary at a business on Diablo Avenue around 3 a.m. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles fleeing the scene, prompting a chase on southbound Highway 101. However, the pursuit was called off due to unsafe speeds. One of the vehicles was later located by California Highway Patrol officers on eastbound Highway 580 in San Rafael. The driver of this vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Jeremy Fong from Oakland, crashed and attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended by police. During the investigation, authorities discovered a significant amount of stolen property in Fong's possession. Fong was taken to a hospital for medical clearance before being booked into Marin County Jail.
