Luton exhibition showcases promises to inspire change

An art installation titled Public Trust will take place at Luton's Hat Gardens on September 7 and 8, showcasing oaths, pledges, and promises made by individuals. This initiative, organized by Revoluton Arts, aims to inspire community engagement and creativity among Lutonians. Lindsey Pugh, the CEO and creative director, emphasizes the importance of these promises as a reflection of personal commitments to oneself and the community. Participants will have the opportunity to swear their promises over various meaningful objects, including sacred texts and holy items. Each promise will be displayed on a large board, and participants will receive a smaller rubbing to keep as a memento. This interactive experience encourages individuals to reflect on their aspirations and commitments, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. The event is designed to promote bottom-up activism, inviting residents to contribute to a positive future for Luton. By engaging in this creative process, participants can express their hopes and desires for themselves and their community. The initiative aims to create a legacy of empowerment and collective responsibility among Lutonians. In collaboration with Fierce Productions, FESTIVAL.ORG, and Global Streets, this exhibition seeks to highlight the spirit of Luton and its residents. The overarching goal is to inspire change and encourage individuals to take part in shaping a better world, both locally and globally.
