Computer scam IT firms shut down after tricking pensioners

Two fraudulent companies, DT Care Ltd and Amolin Solution Limited, were recently shut down by the High Court in Manchester after being found guilty of scamming elderly individuals out of significant sums of money. These companies, registered in Worcestershire and East Sussex, were believed to have operated from India, misleading victims through cold calls that appeared to be from reputable IT firms like Microsoft. The victims, primarily in their 70s and 80s, were tricked into granting remote access to their devices, leading to unauthorized payments for services that were never rendered. The investigation by the Insolvency Service revealed that the companies had provided false information in their Companies House listings, indicating a deliberate attempt to deceive. David Usher, a chief investigator, emphasized the aggressive and intimidating tactics employed by the scammers, which were designed to exploit the vulnerabilities of older adults.
