Story

Lufthansa has introduced its new Allegris Business and First Class experience with the opening of a premium lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport. Although the new cabin designs have yet to reach New York, they have already been launched in cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Chicago, and Shanghai. The lounge, which cost 10 million euros to develop, is part of a broader 2.5 billion euro investment aimed at enhancing customer experiences across the airline's global operations. The redesigned lounge boasts a 25% increase in size, now spanning 6,370 square feet and accommodating up to 165 guests. This expansion addresses the common issue of overcrowding in airport lounges, providing a more comfortable environment for travelers. The interior features light wood paneling and soft leather seating in taupe, gray, and dark brown tones, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. Divided by function, the lounge dedicates approximately one-third of its space to business needs, equipped with communal tables, wireless charging stations, and printing facilities. A private dining area for First Class passengers and HON members offers an elevated culinary experience, featuring dishes such as Scallops with shaved fennel and Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin, complemented by premium wines and champagne. This Newark lounge is the first in the U.S. to showcase Lufthansa's new layout and design, which has already been implemented at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, marking a significant step in the airline's commitment to enhancing passenger experience.
