In Englewood, Colorado, the Denver Broncos waived tight end Greg Dulcich on Monday, marking the end of his inconsistent career with the team. Dulcich, who was drafted in the third round out of UCLA in 2021, faced significant challenges during his time in the NFL, primarily due to recurring hamstring injuries in his first two seasons. In his rookie year, he had a promising start, catching 33 passes for a total of 411 yards and scoring two touchdowns. However, his performance declined significantly in subsequent seasons, as he managed only three receptions for 25 yards over two games during his second season and five catches for 28 yards this year. His inability to consistently contribute led to him being a healthy scratch for the last eight weeks of the season. Despite coach Sean Payton noting improvements in Dulcich’s practice performance, he could not surpass the play of other tight ends on the roster, such as Lucas Kroll, Adam Trautman, and Nate Adkins. The team's decision to waive Dulcich has now opened up a roster spot for either linebacker Drew Sanders, recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, or receiver Josh Reynolds, who has been dealing with a finger injury.
