In late May 2025, Shawn Chan, a 41-year-old resident of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, flew to Orlando, Florida, after obtaining his Canadian passport the same day. Upon arrival, Chan indicated to customs officials that he intended to stay at the WWE Performance Center, a facility designed for training future wrestlers. However, it quickly became apparent that Chan had ulterior motives. Four days later, on May 31, he traveled approximately two hours west of Orlando to a home that correspondence suggests belongs to WWE wrestler Liv Morgan. Surveillance footage captured him arriving at the residence around 5:20 PM, where he demonstrated suspicious behavior by circling the property and attempting to access the front door using various tactics, including searching for a spare key and manipulating the locking mechanism. After failing to gain entry, Chan sat on the porch with a pellet gun he had found nearby, before leaving a handwritten note that declared his intention to pay a 'friendly visit' and expressed grievances related to social interactions. The note also included Chan's personal contact details, raising further concerns about his state of mind. On June 3, Chan was recognized at the WWE Performance Center when he attempted to meet Morgan there as well, leading to his arrest by law enforcement. Following his apprehension, authorities discovered two bottles of liquid labeled in Chinese, which Chan claimed were medicinal in nature, alongside his newly issued passport. Morgan, who was absent during Chan's prior visit to her home, expressed alarm at being targeted and outlined her distress over having her address publicly known, having dealt with several unsolicited visitors. This alarming episode resulted in Chan facing federal stalking charges, and he is currently detained, with a court appearance scheduled for July 18, 2025. Should he be convicted, he could face a potential prison sentence of up to five years, significantly impacted by the seriousness of his actions toward a public figure and the safety concerns of individuals in the spotlight.
