Forensic expert reconstructs face of 14-year-old mummy from ancient Egypt

A teenage mummy, discovered in Edfu, Upper Egypt, dates back to the Ptolemaic period, which spanned from 305 BC to 30 BC. This individual, known as the 'golden boy,' was buried with an impressive collection of 49 amulets placed around his body and wore a golden head mask, indicating a high socio-economic status. Cicero Moraes led a study that involved advanced reconstruction techniques to recreate the mummy's face, based on the skull and other anatomical data. The reconstruction revealed a youthful appearance, emphasizing innocence. Despite thorough examinations, the cause of death remains undetermined as there were no signs of trauma or disease found in the remains, which have been housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo since 1916.
