Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The European Union has approved a €3.5 million grant aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of the Putnikovo Brdo – Medakovo section of Bosnia’s Corridor Vc. This funding will support the construction of essential bridges, tunnels, and roadworks, contributing to regional development. The Grant Agreement was signed in Sarajevo by Denis Lasić, Director of the Public Highways Company, and Manuela Naessl, Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Corridor Vc project is pivotal for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the latest grant adding to the previous €12 million already allocated for the same section. This funding is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and regional integration, marking a crucial step towards completing the country’s largest infrastructure initiative. Babajide, a representative from the EU, emphasized the commitment to improving Bosnia's transport network through this project. In addition to road construction, the project includes measures to manage flooding risks by regulating the Usora and Tešanjka riverbeds, relocating approximately 3.5 kilometers of the existing main road M-4, and reconstructing local streets. Currently, 50 kilometers of the northern section of the Corridor Vc is under construction, with further works planned for the Ozimice – Poprikuše section, indicating ongoing development across the corridor.
