Verizon Frontline supports public safety at Democratic National Convention 2024

The Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team recently completed a significant deployment to support public safety agencies during a major political event in Chicago. This operation, which began over 18 months prior, involved extensive collaboration with various federal, state, and local agencies to ensure that first responders had the necessary communication tools to maintain safety for residents and visitors alike. The team provided a range of solutions, including smartphones with public safety applications and deployable communication assets like Satellite Picocells on Trailers (SPOTs). In addition to these tools, the team also offered unmanned aerial system (UAS) support, enhancing situational awareness and network coverage for specialized missions. They monitored the network to ensure comprehensive coverage for public safety agencies and deployed extra routers at command centers and high-traffic areas, facilitating constant communication for first responders. The Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team's efforts were not limited to the Democratic National Convention; they also supported the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Across both events, the team provided over 900 Verizon Frontline solutions to first responders, demonstrating their commitment to public safety. Derek Mayer, Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service's Chicago Field Office, emphasized the importance of the team's support in enabling agencies to achieve their missions through effective collaboration and communication. The Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team operates on a 24/7 basis, offering emergency assistance at no cost to the agencies they support, showcasing their dedication to enhancing public safety during critical events.
