A 59-year-old Californian shaman, Ricardo Flores, known as Koyote the Blind, has been arraigned on multiple charges of sexual assault involving two female victims. Flores was arrested last week after the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Office received reports from several individuals alleging sexual misconduct. He was apprehended while returning to the United States from Mexico and has since been charged with eight felony offenses, including rape and aggravated sexual assault of a child. The Riverside County District Attorney's Office has detailed the serious nature of the charges, which span a decade from 2012 to 2023. If convicted, Flores faces a potential life sentence in prison. Authorities have indicated that some of the alleged crimes occurred at the Xicoco Shamanic Arts center, which Flores leads in Moreno Valley. They are urging anyone with additional information or potential claims to come forward, suggesting that there may be more victims. Flores presents himself online as an exiled shaman and a practitioner of various spiritual disciplines, claiming to have trained in El Salvador. His background includes a Jesuit education and a focus on healing systems, particularly one he refers to as 'Aka Dua.' He has authored several books and led various organizations, promoting teachings that encompass sexual alchemy and 'sex magick.' After relocating to the U.S. in 1985, he pursued advanced degrees in Philosophy and Cognitive Sciences, further establishing his profile as a spiritual leader.
