Lorentz Solution, Inc. has announced a joint presentation with Nvidia at the TSMC 2024 Open Innovation Platform Ecosystem Forums, showcasing advancements in electromagnetic (EM) design and simulation. The focus of their paper is on distributed and GPU-accelerated 3D EM simulations for integrated circuit (IC) and 3DIC photonics applications using the PeakView® EM design platform. This platform is recognized for delivering high-performance 3D fullwave electromagnetic simulation results across a wide frequency range, from DC to TeraHz, which is crucial for modern high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The collaboration highlights the importance of optical connectivity based on silicon photonics, which is essential for achieving high data transmission rates and bandwidth in next-generation data centers. The platform's efficiency is significantly enhanced by the latest Nvidia GPU technology, achieving speed improvements of approximately 9.8 times with the Nvidia DGX platform and around 5 times with the new Nvidia RTX GPU cards.
