- Etsy sellers are capitalizing on the 'Brat Summer' trend with neon green items
- Neon green products are in high demand and selling well on Etsy
- The trend is bringing in profits for sellers who are embracing the vibrant color theme
In the wake of a popular album release last summer, Etsy has reported a significant increase in searches for "brat" and "lime green" merchandise. The album, featuring a minimalist cover with a solid green background and the word "brat," has inspired a wave of creativity among sellers on the platform. According to Etsy, searches for "brat" surged by 35% and "lime green" by 40% over the past three months compared to the previous year. Entrepreneurs like Ashley Yang have capitalized on this trend by launching brat-themed products. Yang, who operates the Etsy store DeepCutsUSA, began selling shirts shortly after the album's debut. Her sales skyrocketed to $2,422 in July, particularly following significant political announcements that resonated with her audience. Yang's brat-themed items alone generated over $1,200 in revenue since their introduction. Sister duo Brenna and Devon McCaffrey, who run the shop AugustandArcher, have also embraced the brat phenomenon. They reported earning $545 from their brat/Harris-themed bumper sticker, which they listed on July 22. Brenna emphasized that their store aims to celebrate shared cultural moments, transforming them into fun and personal merchandise. The enthusiasm surrounding the "brat" trend highlights the intersection of music, culture, and commerce, showcasing how artists can inspire a vibrant marketplace on platforms like Etsy.
