California man kidnaps elderly woman in South Carolina

The situation unfolded over a weekend where Zueros allegedly targeted an 89-year-old woman, who had ceased providing him with financial assistance. Reports indicate that Zueros was acquainted with the victim through her deceased brother, with whom he had a past relationship. After allegedly planning the attack, Zueros drove from California and rented an Airbnb nearby. Authorities described the shocking scene when the woman was discovered bound in her vehicle. She was found with her wrists restrained by duct tape, a dog leash around her ankles, and a bag over her head, illustrating a premeditated attempt to extort money from her. The victim had reported giving money to charities instead of directly to him, which presumably incited his anger and prompted the kidnapping. During the abduction, a neighbor, a retired police officer, became suspicious when he saw Zueros at the victim's home.
