Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run Death

Fairfield police have made an arrest nearly four months after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident. The tragic event occurred on April 23, around 1 a.m., when officers responded to reports of a woman lying in the roadway at the intersection of Air Base Parkway and Wiley Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered that the woman had been struck by a vehicle and, despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed by authorities. Following the incident, police launched an investigation that led them to a suspect vehicle located at a residence in Vacaville the day after the accident. On Thursday, police arrested 21-year-old Jaered Diago of Vacaville, who has been charged with felony hit-and-run. He was subsequently booked into the Solano County Jail.
