BALTIMORE – A 16-year-old, known as Kaedan Holland or Baby K, is set to be sentenced today for his role in a violent incident on a school bus in Prince George's County. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for 1:30 PM, where Holland faces a potential maximum sentence of 25 years for attempted first-degree murder. The incident occurred when three masked teens boarded the bus in Oxon Hill, targeting a 14-year-old boy. During the attack, Holland brandished a firearm and pulled the trigger three times, but the weapon malfunctioned and did not discharge. Following the incident, police found ammunition on the bus, leading to Holland's arrest by U.S. Marshals weeks later. In March, Holland accepted a plea deal that proposed a 60-year sentence, with 25 years to be served in a maximum-security adult facility known as the Patuxent Institution, which provides therapy and counseling. The plea deal is contingent upon the judge's approval during today's hearing. Holland was not alone in the attack; three other teens were also charged as adults, including a 14-year-old girl who was indicted for orchestrating the assault. The case highlights ongoing concerns about youth violence and the legal system's response to such incidents.
