Story

Morrisons has announced a significant expansion of its grocery delivery service, partnering with Deliveroo to extend the offering to over 500 of its 1,600 Morrisons Daily convenience stores across the UK. This initiative allows customers to order a variety of groceries, including fresh, frozen, and ambient items, through the Deliveroo app or website, with delivery times of approximately 30 minutes. The partnership, which began in 2020, currently operates in 390 larger Morrisons stores. Customers interested in the service can verify its availability in their area by searching for Morrisons on the Deliveroo platform. However, users should be aware that delivery charges apply, which vary based on the distance from the local store. Additionally, a "small order fee" is imposed on baskets under £15, along with a 30p "bag fee" for each order. Joseph Sutton, Morrisons' Convenience, Online, and Wholesale Director, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership's growth, highlighting the increasing demand for rapid delivery services among customers. He noted that the extension to 500 Morrisons Daily stores reflects the supermarket's commitment to meeting consumer needs. In a related effort to address food waste, Morrisons has also expanded its collaboration with Too Good To Go, enabling customers to purchase "Surprise Bags" from approximately 930 Morrisons Daily locations. These bags contain food nearing its sell-by date at reduced prices, following successful trials in various regions. Customers can access this service via the Too Good To Go app.
