The Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation has organized the IV World Conference on Creative Economy, scheduled for October 2-4, 2024, in Tashkent. This significant event will attract over 2,000 participants from more than 80 countries, including creatives, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, who will engage in discussions about the challenges and opportunities within the creative industries. The conference will feature six interactive tracks focusing on various aspects of the creative economy, such as workforce dynamics, creative education, and the impact of AI on intellectual property. Among the notable speakers is Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the ACDF, who will emphasize the role of the creative economy in preserving cultural heritage. John Howkins, a prominent author, will explore the science of creativity, while Dr. Mariet Westermann, CEO of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, will address innovation in the museum sector. The discussions aim to highlight how creative sectors can contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development, particularly in the context of advancing technology. In addition to the conference, Tashkent will host various cultural events, including the premiere of Handel's opera Tamerlano at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre. The Savitsky State Museum of Art will also showcase exhibitions previously displayed in Florence and Venice.
