In a significant drug bust, authorities in County Wexford have seized cannabis valued at over €16 million (£14 million). The operation, conducted by Revenue officers in collaboration with gardaí, took place on Saturday at Rosslare Europort, where an unaccompanied freight unit arriving from Bilbao, Spain, was subjected to a thorough search. The haul included approximately 783 kilograms of herbal cannabis and 70 kilograms of cannabis resin, amounting to an estimated total value of €16.09 million (£13.8 million). This seizure marks one of the largest drug finds in the region, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking. Despite the scale of the operation, gardaí have reported that no arrests have been made at this stage. The seized drugs are currently undergoing analysis as part of the investigation, which remains active.
