Record arrests of illegal alien sex offenders in Maryland last year

The situation is further complicated by findings from a FOX45 News investigation, which revealed that nearly ten percent of child sex crime cases in Baltimore County involved illegal aliens from Central America. These offenders often received more lenient sentences from circuit court judges, raising concerns about the judicial handling of such cases. For instance, Henry Argueta-Tobar, a 19-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, was convicted of second-degree rape and sentenced to 20 years in prison. However, the court suspended all but 190 days of his sentence, highlighting a troubling trend in the legal system's approach to illegal alien offenders. The record number of arrests and the leniency shown in sentencing underscore the challenges faced by law enforcement and the judicial system in addressing crimes committed by illegal aliens.
