Glover, who has three children, noted that fathers on Team GB often experience less pressure and have longer career expectations compared to their female counterparts. In an interview with the Radio Times, she emphasized that while many male athletes have children, it is rarely discussed, suggesting a societal bias that overlooks the challenges faced by women in balancing motherhood with elite sports. As Glover prepares for the upcoming Paris Olympics, she has become a prominent advocate for working mothers in athletics. This year marks a significant milestone, with more mothers participating in the Olympics and Paralympics than ever before. For the first time, the Olympic village will feature a nursery, reflecting a growing recognition of the needs of parent-athletes. Glover expressed hope that the increased visibility of women returning to competition after childbirth will inspire change in perceptions and support for female athletes.
