Aaditya Thackeray criticizes BJP for transferring projects from Maharashtra

In the lead-up to the Maharashtra assembly elections, Aaditya Thackeray has publicly criticized the ruling BJP government for transferring projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat. He claims that this decision has severely undermined job creation and economic opportunities in the state. Specifically, the Airbus project, initially planned for Nagpur, has been reassigned to Gujarat, highlighting what Thackeray describes as a pattern of neglect towards Maharashtra's development needs. Thackeray's accusations extend to Devendra Fadnavis, the former chief minister, whom he claims has not actively defended Nagpur's interests during his tenure. He asserts that the BJP government is detrimental to the welfare of Mumbai and Maharashtra as a whole. Thackeray underscores that while projects are being redirected to other states, Maharashtra, and its youth are left to suffer the consequences. During his campaign, Thackeray has also pointed to the reduction of bus services by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) and contrasts it with his party's previous plans to increase service availability. He claims that the ongoing governance under Eknath Shinde has resulted in deterioration in transport services, further impacting the populace. As Thackeray prepares for a rematch against Milind Deora in the Worli constituency, he emphasizes the need for a government that prioritizes and safeguards the interests of Maharashtra and its residents against neglectful practices of the BJP.
