LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Paseo Verde Little League team is drawing inspiration from ten-year-old Colston Delk, a fellow player diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma. Colston, who plays in the 10U division, has faced significant health challenges since his diagnosis in April, undergoing surgery to remove cancer from his abdomen. Despite his struggles, he maintains a positive outlook, focusing on activities like jumping on trampolines and drawing, rather than dwelling on his illness. Colston's resilience has not gone unnoticed by his teammates, who have rallied around him during their playoff run. Samantha, a member of the team, expressed admiration for Colston's spirit, noting that he has never complained about his situation. The Paseo Verde team has consistently shown support for Colston, inquiring about his health and looking for ways to help him through this difficult time. In a heartwarming gesture, the Delk family presented a customized shirt to the team’s player, O’Hoppe, featuring the slogan “#ColstonStrong.” Colston has embraced this support, proudly wearing the shirt and expressing hope for his future. He shared that his doctor has indicated he may be able to return to baseball by the end of December or January if his health improves. As the Paseo Verde team competes for a world title, they carry Colston's spirit with them, embodying the strength and unity that sports can inspire in the face of adversity.
