China Eastern Airlines enhances travel experience at Shanghai Airport

On September 9, 2024, China Eastern Airlines introduced its Eastern E-Services travel facilitation series at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience for international passengers by streamlining processes such as ticket booking, check-in, baggage drop, and customs declaration. The airline's app allows travelers to obtain electronic boarding passes and utilize online customs declaration, significantly improving efficiency and comfort during their journey. The airline has also implemented a service for foreign visitors eligible for visa-free transit, which simplifies entry procedures. Additionally, the domestic check-in counters at Shanghai Pudong International Airport have extended their operating hours to midnight, ensuring that passengers can check in at any time. In terms of baggage handling, China Eastern Airlines has launched a Special Baggage Drop-off service through its app and established dedicated counters at 15 major airports across China. These counters assist with inquiries regarding baggage, manage high-value items, and offer additional baggage allowances. Furthermore, the airline has introduced a "bus + air" combined transportation service in several cities within the Yangtze River delta, providing travelers with more flexible options. Eligible passengers can also enjoy free ticket changes for flights within the region, extending this service to other areas such as Sichuan and Guangdong, thereby enhancing overall travel convenience.
