PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Council Rock Newtown Little League baseball team from Bucks County has secured a spot in the 2024 Little League World Series, following a decisive 5-1 victory over Washington, D.C., in the Mid-Atlantic Region tournament final held in Bristol, Connecticut. This win marks a significant achievement for the team, which will now represent Pennsylvania in the prestigious tournament. The Little League World Series is set to take place from August 14 to August 25 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Council Rock Newtown team has shown impressive performance throughout the tournament, having previously dominated their opponents with a 13-1 win against D.C. and an 11-1 victory over Maryland earlier in the week. As they prepare for the World Series, the team will face the Southwest Region champion, Texas West, in their opening game scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN on August 16.
