Antonio Moreno, a California resident, recounted a harrowing experience that left him in critical condition after a swarm of bees attacked him while he was trying to rescue his horses. Moreno's ordeal began when his son alerted him that a bee was stinging one of their horses. In an attempt to help, he untied the horse but was soon overwhelmed by a swarm that descended upon him and the animals. As Moreno struggled to reach two other horses still tied up, he felt his throat constrict and his heart race. Fortunately, the property owner and her boyfriend witnessed the attack and rushed to his aid, pulling him into their home for safety. They promptly called 911, and firefighters from CalRiverside arrived shortly after to assist. While Moreno's 12-year-old son escaped the incident with minor injuries, Moreno himself faced a severe health crisis. Medical professionals removed over 200 bee stingers from his neck and arms, and one bee was extracted from his ear. Following the attack, he discovered that he is allergic to bee stings and will now need to carry an EpiPen for emergencies. Moreno revealed that the bees had been living under a shed where he stored horse feed for the past two years, but he had never considered them a threat. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers posed by wildlife, even in seemingly benign situations.
