NavIC strengthens India’s military capabilities during Operation Sindoor

In May 2025, India executed Operation Sindoor, showcasing advanced military technology including missiles and drones. A critical element of this operation was India’s indigenous satellite navigation system, NavIC, which orchestrated the precision of military maneuvers during the conflict. This satellite system, managed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), offers accurate navigation and timing services not only within India but also up to 1,500 kilometers beyond its borders. This operational range gives the Indian Armed Forces a significant advantage, especially in conflict scenarios where external navigation systems might be compromised. The NavIC system, which stands for Navigation with Indian Constellation, was strategically utilized across multiple military applications throughout Operation Sindoor.
