In a dramatic incident on August 7, a cyclist in his 50s thwarted an attempted robbery of his e-bike in broad daylight on Bromford Lane, West Bromwich. The cyclist was confronted by a gang of thugs on scooters who blocked his path and forcefully shoved him to the ground. Despite the assault, the cyclist fought back, using an unidentified red liquid to deter the attackers as they fled the scene. Following the incident, which was captured on the cyclist's action camera, police made four arrests linked to this robbery and a series of other vehicle crimes in the Sandwell area. The suspects include two 20-year-old men and two teenage boys, aged 18 and 17.
