Matthew Perry, the beloved actor known for his role in "Friends," passed away nearly ten months ago, yet his friends and family continue to celebrate his legacy. On what would have been his 55th birthday, the official "Friends" Instagram account paid tribute to Perry, coinciding with the recent filing of charges related to the drug supply that contributed to his tragic death. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles have charged five individuals with conspiring to provide Perry with ketamine, a drug known for its anesthetic and psychedelic properties. Perry was found deceased in his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner attributing his death to the acute effects of ketamine. Among those charged is Jasveen Sangha, 41, who has been labeled the "Ketamine Queen" and faces additional allegations related to drug distribution. Three other defendants, including a doctor, have either pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges or have agreed to do so, according to prosecutors. Defense attorneys for the accused have expressed skepticism regarding the criminal charges. Mark Geragos, representing Sangha, argued that the situation should not be criminalized simply because it is a tragedy. He emphasized that the circumstances do not warrant a criminal case. Similarly, Stefan Sacks, attorney for another defendant, stated that his client had a legitimate doctor-patient relationship with Perry, asserting that the actions taken were intended to provide medical care rather than harm.
